Are Families Dangerous Literature review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Are Families Dangerous - Literature review ExampleDespite the denomination being chilling to read and despite the incidents along with the evidence lending a shade of authenticity and truth to the point, I fail to relate to or adopt her point of view. In my opinion, just because a dysfunctional familys meanderings catch the attention of the media does not necessarily mean that there is an automatic riot of family unit of measurements everywhere. Simply put, not all families are dysfunctional. Not every single family is a nest of pathology and a cradle of gruesome violence (Ehrenreich 37) as she writes in the opening paragraphs of the article. In the following paragraph, she attributes a family to be a near haven in a heartless world (Ehrenreich 37) appearing to change her attitude by saying that the family nurtures warm, loving feelings, uncontaminated by greed or power hunger (Ehrenreich 37). That she does not agree with the statements is given away by the fact that she makes use of the linguistic process theoretically and sometimes actually before stating them. ... outcomes and bruised egos and broken personalities being the least, she does present a very strong case against a unit that everyone from celebrities to politicians, to the common man are in favor of. She does, however, miss the fundamental point that one cannot generalize or stereotype on the bases of individual incidents. What happens in one family does not reflect badly on another. One bad deed by one person (or in this case, some bad whole shebang committed by some people) does not condemn the whole human race. Just like it is wrong for a person to assert that all cosmos is bent upon murdering, by pointing out to the killings and murders that are a part of our societal lives, similarly, her logic in this regard is flawed. Ehrenreich states that for a woman, home is, statistically speaking, the most redoubted place to be (Ehrenreich 37) and that an individual is in more danger with rel atives than with strangers. She once again uses child abuse as a supporting point in her argument. Once again, she misses seeing the point that for every individual who has been exposed to such torment, there are hundreds out there who have not and are safe and loved in their homes. Yes, according to her, we do learn nasty things like hate and rage and shame (Ehrenreich 37) from family. But also, in her own preceding words in the same paragraph, the family teaches the finest things human beings can learn from one another generosity and love (Ehrenreich 37). And this is the side of the argument I would rather stick to. We do, and then learn a lot of good things from our family and are often indebted to them for instilling in us the moral compass that we carry around, figuratively, with us.

Writing Assignment #2 Fence Standards, from the Fennelly textbook Essay
Writing Assignment 2 Fence Standards, from the Fennelly textbook - Essay ExampleCPTED offers a framework for integrating offensive prevention into urban designs quality. It foc offices on the reduction of crime opportunities and lessens the motivation to offend, while nurturing positive interactions between sincere users of the space. The objective of surveillance is to convince potential attackers that they argon very little possibilities of a successful attack due to strong defense mechanisms. The initial security layer of building uses CPTED to discourage threats. Prior to the use or implementations of surveillance options, CPTEDs theory indicates that the proper design, as well as effective use of built environments, can decrease crime. Design is one of the key factors before considering surveillance technology. They atomic number 18 three primary CPTED design guidelines that are broadly accepted. The type of locks needed in facilities that require secrecy and confidentiality ar e dependent on a combination of correlated factors that involve design, installation, manufacturing, and system maintenance (Fennelly, 2012). In addition, not all locks are applicable in roughly situation, specifically designed locks are usually used in specifically provided situation, hence sufficient knowledge of basic principles of locking systems are inevitable.Security light is an effective deterrent method. Attackers will never enter a well-lit area or premise. This form of security cuts across various locations such as lay lots, office space, and entry points. Doors, gates and other forms of entrance must be well lit in so asto allow for observation of persons and vehicles culmination in and out (Fennelly, 2012). When lighting facility grounds, using broadly distributed low-intense lighting is normally superior to small spots of high-intense lighting, because the latter has a tendency to pass water dead spots for security personnel, as well as CCTV cameras. This option is

Absenteeism from School Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Absenteeism from School - Essay ExampleThus, an individuals absenteeism is determined both by the information that he derives from the situation and by the bushel or expectation in terms of which he views the situation. The desirability of a situation is estimated in reference to internalized scales and norms of value which argon determined by ancient experience (Burgess, 2003). That which conforms to these norms tends to be most readily perceived, and that which departs from the norms tends to be rejected. Since the absenteeism tends not that to confirm desirability estimates but also to strengthen other related expectations that are highly valued, the individual develops systems of more or less highly interrelated value expectations relative to his family, school, community, church, political party, nation, work group, and so on. These different systems may be mutually reinforcing or they may be in conflict with each other. Young people frequently experience conflict between th e values acquired from their parents and those acquired from their long time peers. They may also perceive conflict between the values acquired at church and those acquired from their science teachers. Because of their high degree of independence of validating outcomes, they come to deal out as stable reference points in terms of which experienced outcomes are evaluated as satisfying or unsatisfying. They also serve as comparing criteria and, as such, enable the individual to evaluate the values of other persons, groups, and subgroups. The student affected by absenteeism is one who makes evaluations in terms of his value systems without reference to the objective rigourousness of his judgments (Byman and Burgess 2001). The value of the proposed research willing be justified by increased number of drop outs from schools and depressed scores showed by many low class students in working areas. The concern has been validity the truth value of research outcomes is stronger when both the entropy and the design are valid. Legitimating means that the research methods are consistent with the philosophical underpinnings of the question. For instance, the positivist assumes an objective reality the postmodernist assumes no objective reality and no objective, truth. While a perfectly accurate portraiture of our notions of validity across the continuum is not possible, researchers can outline the major dimensions of thinking (Coffey and Atkinson 2003). Taking into account the nature of research, it is important to note that concerns about validity will include both external and internal validity, on the one hand, and measurement validity, on the other hand. Both these categories of concern are generated by the need to have a bun in the oven confidence that our test, data, or design does indeed measure or reflect or produce what researchers intend it to measure, reflect, or produce. Without internal validity, one can only conclude that the approach being used to answ er the question of interest is capable of estimating the relationship, and no statement about causation is possible. Even though in that respect are those among the ranks of qualitative researchers who say they are not interested in internal validity, those who wish to infer causal relationships must be concerned with this opinion of their research. In fact, even some who dismiss this concern as being only a quantitative researchers dilemma will admit to processes like triangulation and theoretic sampling, which are conceptual attempts and techniques to get at internal validity (Reid 1999). Absenteeism level is difficult to measure, so interview methods will help to collect required data and evaluate the level and causes of this problem. The research interview as a strategy to find out from people things

My feet is rested but my soul is at rest Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
My feet is naped but my soul is at rest - Essay ExampleEvidently, the thesis is congruent with Martin Luthers letter as he communicates utmost peace within himself despite of the adversities he encounters. This also serves as the best thesis as the protagonist of the document advocates for it after interview it from an old woman. Despite of the statements ungrammatical profundity, Martin uses it against the white moderates. It portrays physical, ethical, and spiritual aspects of the Black Civil Rights Movement. The statement communicates to the white moderates. His actions and experiences seem to derive influence from this statement. I write this paragraph to create an introductory aspect about the origins of the thesis. Reading Luthers letter from prison involved cognitive processes of responding. The critical response and psychoanalysis took diverse techniques that contributed to the work outulation of the thesis. The foremost technique involved a superficial reading of the ent ire letter. This provided key denotations that contributed to the thesis My feet is rest but my soul is at rest. After a survey of the letter, the key events spell Martin Luthers will to suffer for his people. He makes immense ritual killings to advocate for freedom in Birmingham. The black prevail was subjected to intense segregation by the whites. Therefore, the thesis derives its form from these major events. This attributes to the fact that his feet rest in prison after his engagement, and his soul rests upon his accomplishment towards advocating for freedom and equating in Birmingham. I create this paragraph to exemplify an aspect of comparison that led to the thesis formulation. Therefore, the thesis My feet is rested but my soul is at rest, derives its form from contrasting antithetic events within the letter. Comparison is a key technique that seeks to expound on relative sides, for a uniform final implication. I employ this technique I formulating this paragraph. Marti n Luther formulates an analogy in his paper that speaks of religious leaders in Christianity. These leaders involve Jesus, as well as the disciples. He compared his sacrifice with the one that was found amongst the religious leaders. This brought an aspect of comparison that contributed to the thesis. Through comparison, Martin Luther and the religious leaders have immense similarity in their capability to sacrifice for their people. Their souls rest even during adversities in the quest for the needy. The comparison contributes to the thesis My feet is rested but my soul is at rest immensely. Therefore, comparison is a key technique in thesis formulation. I formulated this paragraph to take a comparative nature with the aim reflecting the thesis as the ultimate implication of the relationships. Insight reflexion is a key technique of thesis construction that I use in the composition of this paragraph. This technique involves the evaluation of history and chronology of a text. The d epicted dilatory sequence of events has a major contribution to the thesis. The thesis gains more authenticity after exploration of chronology and history. Martin reflects a chronological development of segregation through different times. Segregation and injustice has been a major concern within Birmingham. This gives him propulsion to undergo adversities for the sake of his people. He meets an old lady that utters striking words to him My feet is rested but my soul is at rest. This explains Martin Luthers attitude towards advocacy for freedom. He lets his feet rest

The Macro & Microeconomic Of China Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words
The Macro & Microeconomic Of China - Essay ExampleThe Macro & Microeconomic Of ChinaChina has become a acceptable model for ongoing rapid growth for a developing country as a whole. Compared to a developed countrys performance uniform the USA, its growth has been more than 300% as of the most recent year. There have been envious criticisms about Chinese ways of progressing. Are such accusations corresponding currency manipulation and piracy of intellectual property the real reasons for such rapid economic growth? If not what enabled China to sustain its growth and to comparatively keep on low unemployment rates? The hypothesis to be proven in this term paper is that China, although ruled by the Communist Party which practices dictatorship up to a certain extent, was able to draw a general cooperation from among the majority of people. Its culture was actually practicing some aspects of democracy and genuine concern by the governing for the welfare of the Chinese people. From its vast manpower resource, and the willingness of the government to fund the peoples productive endeavours, the aggregate productivity soared to great heights and was able to desexualize China very competitive in meeting the global demand for goods and services. In other words, there were reforms (Fosu 2013, p.154) from harsh dictatorial rule in the past, to able approaches in government transactions with people within China and in the international community. This paper also provides recommendations for other developing and developed countries to consider for adoption, as well as recommendations how China can further improve its socio-economic acceptance worldwide in spite of being a Communistic country. From State-Owned Enterprises to Restructured Business Enterprises Dosi et. al. (2013) depict the companies in Mainland China to be made up of seven categories of ownership under the reformed or restructured economy, namely, (1) the State-Owned enterprises, (2) foreign-invested made up of foreign Multinational Corporations (MNC)s and spliff Ventures (JVs), (3)private-owned enterprises (POEs), (4)shareholding enterprises, (5)collective-owned enterprises (COEs), (6) Hongkong, Macau, and Taiwan invested enterprises (HMTs), and (7) Other Domestic Enterprises (ODEs). Details of businesses are further identified in Figure 5 of the Appendix Section. These businesses became parts of the economy not straight with one decision, but gradually over the years since 1978. The chronological reforms are as follows Years Developments in terms of economic reforms 1978-1984 Stage 1. State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) were decentralized. Both moolah and power were transferred to the private sector. But government still ruled over the contracted businesses to the private sector. There were discouraging restrictions against foreign investors prior to 1978. (p.5) 1979 to mid-1980s A right on Joint Ventures enabled foreign investors to share technology with SOEs.
